Joe Creek Nature Trail
Thank you for visiting our site. This site is all about our positive experiences that we have enjoyed through hiking at Sleeping Giant Provincial Park with our dogs, fostering dogs that need good homes, and being responsible pet owners. We have taken in many dogs in the past and found them good homes. You can click on the sidebar to see the animals that need good homes, or animals that we have placed in good homes.
Drop us a line if you find this site interesting, as we are always glad to hear from you.
We are not an organized charity or licenced or authorized pet rescue, but we love dogs. In any case, when we find an animal that is in need, we occasionally take him or her in.
We have three dogs of our own. You can click on the Picture Gallery link on the sidebar to view some photos of our dogs and the fun we enjoy while taking them with us on various hikes throughout Northwestern Ontario.
Here is a little blub about our dogs:
Fleury
Fleury - She is the oldest. Currently at 11+ years old, she is still every bit a Jack Russell Terrier. She is slowing down over the years, but continues to be exuberant and a great hiking dog. She can hike long distances and loves people (adults and children). She loves the company of other dogs, but tends to be very barky around them.
Opal
Opal - Opal is a very sweet girl. She just turned 7 on October 14th. Opal is a Husky cross who is very gentle, laid back, and sometimes aloof. She enjoys the company of people and other dogs, however she wants to make the first move. She is the most obedient of our girls.
Patches
Patches - Patches came to us from Duluth Minnesota from a rescue. She is a Border Collie cross and turns 6 on October 21st. Patches is deaf and she is very loyal. She is the most alert dog we have, always wanting to know where you are and what you are doing. She is very protective of her surroundings and of her family, but out on the trails she is quite happy go lucky.
